"She used to put pork chops in her purse... wrap them up in a napkin and take them home. And she'd tell them she was only going to have half a cup of coffee, so she only wanted to pay for half a cup of coffee..."
-chicks at breakfast place, talking about some ridiculously cheap person

Isn't coffee, like, 95 cents??? I can't imagine having the smell of pork chops wafting out of my purse... yick.

That's not just cheap, it's STUPID. "Mr. Waiter or Bus Boy, can I have this pork chop wrapped to go? Thanks!"

One of my wife's ex-co-workers and sometimes friend (total flake) is even cheaper than that. When she went to england she slept in train stations and would eat food left behind by people at restaurants after they'd left. Yick.

Was the person old? I worked at the Hilton and once at a wedding a whole table of pensioners got out of their bags (that they had carried through the wedding) a role of cellophane to wrap up the spare food from their plates. I think it stems from war times when you made the most of what you had.

Anyway, I love your blog, it's the best idea I've seen for a blog yet, although sorry, i forgot about it for a while, but now I'm back.
