Welcome to a special edition of Overheard! This week, we feature things that were overheard by people who are not me. First, two Overheards from Kris who, by the way, is getting an A in her Physics class and can probably skip her final exam. Go Kris!!
"A little background - these two guys in my class were discussing how one of them was extremely tired. Seems he didn't get any sleep last night because he was up late playing Halo. So I overheard the following conversation:
Dork 1 - "Man, I am SO tired. Halo is too addictive!"
Dork 2 - "No, methamphetamines are addictive. But slightly less so than Halo."
And THAT, my friend is the ULTIMATE in geek conversation!"
I know some people who are addicted to Halo. And when they go on a binge, man, they are very, very frightening!
This one is such a gem...
"But.........I don't BRING down the fallopian tubes!" -frustrated unit clerk on the phone today at work
I laughed my head off when I got that in my inbox. WHAT THE HECK??? Whose job is it to "bring down the fallopian tubes"? Eep. I hope they're well paid.
Dear Mr. Blue heard the bozo who sits next to him say "He's got a good brain on his head." Which could account for how dumb this guy is... I would imagine a brain outside a skull wouldn't work so well after a few minutes...
A lovely co-worker friend at work overheard this freaky comment:
"I'm going to be home around 5pm. It would be nice if someone were outside waiting for me. "
-militantly religious guy at work who speaks with his eyes closed.
This guy is so spooky. Not only does he have a big-ass Book of Mormon poster in his office, but he made a poster of family pictures that says "THIS FAMILY WILL BE TOGETHER FOREVER". Which, as the lovely co-worker friend pointed out, kind of sounds like a threat, really. "He's really into family values," she said, "but he's militantly into family values."
And there is your nonperiodic dose of the scary things that people say and do. Thanks to all who hear and send them to me, so we can all have a good laugh at them here. :)
